Elizabeth Cady Stanton

Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815-1902) was the co-founder of the women's suffrage movement in the United States and worked side by side with Susan B. Anthony for over fifty years. She has been cast in history's shadows and is long overdue recognition for her essential role in fighting for equal rights for women in the U.S. Of her long-standing relationship with Susan B. Anthony, Stanton said, "I forged the thunderbolts, she fired them."
